Hello from Alberta Canada.
It was a busy summer for my Tennessee Walker Mare, Peppi, and myself with local parades and sidesaddle demos at Spruce Meadows, Breed Showcase.
There was a two day sidesaddle clinic at the Bar U Heritage Ranch in Southern Alberta, with ten women and a twelve year old girl attending. The instructor was Lee McLean who along with her daughter and mother in law have been riding sidesaddle for years.
At seventy nine years or age, I was, of course, the oldest rider. The first day of the clinic was filled with lessons followed by a wonderful western style Bar-B-Que.
The next morning held more lessons. In the afternoon we dressed in our finery both Western and English and paraded around the Interpretive Center so the visitors could view and snap pictures of our parade.
Here's a photo of everyone dressed in their finery.

Charis is in red on the black horse, fifth person from the left.
We hope to get a group together to do the many parades in southern Alberta
We wish to thank both Lee McLean and the Bar U ranch for a super clinic and venue.
A very nice write up was done in our local paper. Look for more in Aside World magazine.
Great riding aside to you all,
Charis Cooper.
