This is a very nice Child's side saddle, rebuilt by Smoky Everhart some years ago. The saddle's seat measures 17" from the front of the fixed head and 9.5" wide. The gullet measures 7.5" at the D rings for the breast collar.
The saddle has an inset doeskin seat and pommels. The linen panels are in good shape with a pocket on the offside point for adding shims for fitting, as needed. This shim pocket allows the saddle to be shimmed (if needed) without using a saddle pad.
The saddle has D rings for a breast collar and a sandwich case. The safe and flap are cut like an Owen side saddle. The stirrup bar is marked Wright and Wellep and is an adjustable J-shaoed bar with three positions. The stirrup hanger can be moved forward or back into three separate holes. The saddle requires a standard stirrup leather and safety stirrup, not included.
This saddle could be used by a child in lead line classes, or very easily be used by a child who is ready to ride indepently, even jumping!
