W.H. Giddens Side Saddle
This W. H. Giddens side saddle is a gorgeous saddle for a youth or smaller lady. W. H. Giddens took over Champion & Wilton in 1962 and kept the quality and workmanship. It would be hard to find a nicer saddle for a youth or smaller lady.
This is a beautiful show saddle made for work on both the flat and over fences. The seat is 19 inches long by 12 inches wide in US measurements from the front of the fixed pommel to the cantle. It measures 15 inches long from the cutback..
This fantastic Giddens side saddle has an inset doeskin seat, doeskin pommels and linen over serge panels. The linen and serge panels are in pristine condition with the panel extending under the safe to support your right leg. The panels are properly flocked for a balanced ride.
The pommels are the medium style and very comfortable to ride. There are two positions for the leaping head to allow an upright seat with a long leg or a more forward position over fences. Outside billets for the show ring (and for easy girth adjustment).
The saddle is a medium wide fit and it is reinforced for jumping. The points are relatively open, allowing for a wider rib cage.
It has D rings for your breast collar. The billets are in excellent condition.
The saddle has the Mayhew breakaway assembly with the Mayhew breakaway fitting on the stirrup leather, but no stirrup.
