Beautiful rebuilt Mayhew side saddle - work done by certified Master saddler Michael Stokes.
This side saddle has been redone from the tree out by an experienced saddler who knew how to do his leather work properly. No short cuts on this saddle! The original Mayhew tags are gone and nail heads indicate Centaur Saddlery, Michael Stokes' shop in Virginia.
The seat and wide pommels are light suede and the new panels are linen over serge. The seat is 22.5 inches long by a generous 13.5 inches wide. The pommels are the wide "improved group" pommels that Mayhew is so well known for. The linen and serge panels extend under the safe to support your right leg.
The saddle is an extra wide fit, measuring 9" in the gullet to the actual tree at the level of the D rings for the breast collar. It measures nearly 18 inches betwen the points. It is reinforced for jumping. This is a VERY nice saddle in new condition for the serious show rider or hunter!
It has D rings for your breast collar and your sandwich case on the offside. The billets are new.
The saddle has the Mayhew breakaway assembly. It comes with a stirrup leather with Mayhew fitting, the original stirrup, a balance girth, a matching trifold leather girth, a pad and fleece dust cover.
