Return to the Side Saddles Sale Page
Victorian Hunting side saddle.
Serge panels covered with linen were professionally repaired by the previous owner. The saddle was retro-fitted with a Mayhew break away assembly in the 1920's. The quilted safe and calf-skin quilted seat were high end, expensive options on English-made saddles of this time. Just gorgeous! The seat measures 21 inches from the front of the pommel to the rear of the seat, and 12.5 inches wide.
Cut back head to accomodate pronounced withers and to allow a flatter seat. Scant medium width, good for a Thoroughbred, Standardbred, Saddlebred. $1250
