Champion & Wilton - Medium width saddle with a good deal of flair between the points on a hard-to-find Wykham pad.
The seat measures 21" from the fixed head to the cantle, 17" from the cutback to the cantle. The seat's width is 13 1/4", The gullet between the D rings for the breast collar measures 7", and it measures 19 " between the short and long points. This saddle would fit a horse wearing a medium saddle with broader shoulders and well sprung ribs. It is a beautiful fit on my hard-to-fit Arabian hunter!
The saddle was converted to the Wykham pad by The Side Saddlery this year. This is a new 1" thick Wykham pad, set up to fit into point pockets and buckle up all around the saddle, just as these pads were originally made by Champion & Wilton in the 1920-1940's.
This saddle is reinforced for jumping. This is an excellent old name saddle that is ready for a new owner to enjoy.
The saddle has medium pommels, new billets and balance strap. It will come with a new stirrup leather with the Champion & Wilton fitting at te top and the correct hook & slide for adjustment. $1450
