Mayhew The Lissadell Side Saddle
Mayhew - The Lissadell side saddle - The "workhorse" of the Old Name English side saddles in absolutely GORGEOUS condition. The Lissadell model was a well built saddle intended for work on the flat and over fences.
This is a fantastic Mayhew The Lissadell side saddle with a pigskin seat, pigskin pommels and serge panels. The seat is 22 inches long by a generous 14 inches wide. The pommels are the wide "improved group" pommels that Mayhew is so well known for. The serge panels are in good condition with the panel extending under the safe to support your right leg. The leather has been professionally cleaned and reconditioned.
The saddle is a wide fit with a 8 inch gullet measured to the actual tree at the level of the D rings. It measures a generous 17 1/2" from the end of the short point to the end of the long point. It is reinforced for jumping and rides quite nicely. The saddle has been on a larger warmblood, a draft and a draft cross.
It has D rings for your breast collar and a kerchief pocket on the offside. There are D rings for attaching a sandwich case. The overgirth strap is new on the off side and has a new elastic convenience tab. The billets are in good condition.
The saddle has the Mayhew breakaway assembly with the correct stirrup leather fitting and egg eye stirrup.
