Whippy - Show Condition!
This Whippy is in exquisite condition, being sold by the second owner it has ever had! She received it as a wedding gift from the Linden Gray family, but she no longer rides aside and is looking for a home where this lovely saddle can be used. It has previously been used for pleasure riding and dressage. It has a two poisition leaping head to allow a forward position or a very long leg.
It has leather panels which are still fairly supple, flocking is well done - not hard or lumpy. Recently reflocked in England by a master saddler in Cornwall. Small repair to leather panel near waist of the saddle - old and well done.
Seat measures 22 inches from the front of the pommel to the rear of the seat. The seat is 13 inches wide at its widest. The tree measures 7inches between the D rings in front, and measures 13 inches from point to point, making this a wider saddle.
The elastic convenience tab for the overgirth on the off side is missing, requiring the overgirth to be fastened at the buckle. This is the only flaw I could find with the saddle and it does not interfere with the function, ride or overall look of the saddle.
The saddle comes complete with the original safety fitting, leather and egg eye stirrup, unusually wide balance girth (2 1/4inches wide) a 4inch wide Fitzwilliam girth (Master saddler made and brand new), a high quality hunting breastplate with standing martingale and cover for the second leaping head position opening.
